BASF Termidor® SC Termiticide/Insecticide Receives Approval for New Use

April 14, 2015

PMPs can now apply Termidor SC up to four times per year

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., April 14, 2015 — BASF announced the approval of new label use directions by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that allow Termidor® SC termiticide/insecticide* to be used up to four times per year. A new low rate for general pest control was established, helping pest management professionals (PMPs) manage Termidor SC use for quarterly accounts.

The overall volume of Termidor SC active concentrate that can be used at a given site per year remains unchanged, however, a combination of application rates can be selected to increase the number of yearly applications (see information below).

Permitted Termidor SC Frequency and Dilution Rate Application Scenarios

% Termidor SC finished dilution:

  • 0.03% 4 times per calendar year
  • 0.06% 2 times per calendar year
  • 0.03% 2 times and 0.06% 1 time per calendar year

In California, Termidor SC can only be applied at 0.06% 2 times per calendar year

"Termidor SC is a revolutionary ant control product, with its genuine Transfer Effect™ technology." said Brian Mann, Marketing Manager at BASF. "With new rate options, PMPs have more flexibility to design their general pest programs and treatment schedules knowing that they have access to more applications."

"Termidor SC is also a very versatile product with excellent spider control. Beyond the one foot up and one foot out, it can be applied in 18 inch wide bands around windows, doors, vents, pipes or other exterior openings. With the option for more frequent applications, it becomes a real go-to product for quarterly general pest services," Mann said.

The label change goes into effect immediately. A supplemental label has been issued, and may be used in conjunction with products that may not have these directions printed on the container. The supplemental label is available for download at www.cdms.net/ldat/ld3DR007.pdf.
