Q: How will a Termidor Certified Professional properly apply Termidor to protect my structure from termites?
A: The Pest Management Professional will apply a finished dilution of Termidor along the foundation walls of the building to create a continuous treatment zone. The application method used is called “trenching” or “trenching and rodding”. Sometimes proper treatment requires drilling holes through concrete slabs or other hard surfaces adjacent to the foundation of buildings for protection. The Pest Management Professional may also treat termite prone or termite active areas from within the interior of the building, depending on the extent of the termite infestation, damage or conducive areas to be treated. Depending on the treatment situation, a minimally disruptive Termidor treatment along the exterior perimeter (Exterior Perimeter/Localized Interior (EP/LI) or Perimeter PLUSTM) of the building may be all the protection it will need. (Please refer to the label for specific use directions and restrictions).
Q: Why should Termidor be used properly?
A: Uses not included on the Termidor label have not been evaluated for human and environmental safety. It is a violation of Federal and State law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Q: Can Termidor be applied on golf course fairways?
A: No, Termidor cannot be used on greens, tees, or fairways. Termidor is not labeled for use on golf course turf grass.
Q: How will a Termidor Certified Professional apply Termidor SC, Termidor 80 WG, or Termidor NY for ant control around the outside of my home?
A: For directions to this type of application, refer to the “directions for use to control listed pests on outside surfaces and along foundation perimeter of listed structures” section of the Termidor label. For perimeter pest control, there is only one application rate permitted, a 0.06% finished dilution.
Q: If ants are trailing from a home to an area in the middle of a yard, is treatment along the entire ant trail approved?
A: No. The Termidor label only permits treatment of ant trails and nests within one (1) foot up and one (1) foot out from the base of the structure foundation or on the structure itself. Treating greater than 1 foot away from the house will increase the possibility of runoff of Termidor to nearby water bodies.
Q: As a Termidor Certified Professional, how often can I treat a structure for general insect control?
A: For non-termite listed pest treatments of outside surfaces and/or along foundation perimeters of listed structures, only two (2) perimeter applications per year are permitted for any given application site. If a pest problem persists, another product must be used at that site.
Q: How close can Termidor be applied to edible plants intended for human consumption?
A: The Termidor SC, 80 WG, NY, and HE Copack labels state: “Do not treat within a distance of one foot out from the drip line of edible plats”. If Termidor is inadvertently applied too close to edible plants, options could include discarding the entire plant or discarding the portion of the plant intended for consumption.
Q: Why are fleas not on the Termidor label?
A: Termidor products cannot be used for fleas. The products are not approved for this pest. Contact a Pest Management Professional for properly approved treatment options at www.TermidorHome.com.
Q: I mistakenly spilled Termidor on the carpets in a home. What must I do?
A: Clean the affected areas with a carpet cleaning machine and a carpet cleaning detergent solution. A home carpet cleaning machine can be rented/used for this purpose, or you can hire a professional carpet cleaning service. The rinse water can be disposed of by applying it to soil next to a building foundation or disposing of it as pesticide waste according to state and local regulations.
