Ridesco WG Insecticide is a new dilutable offering for the general pest control market from BASF. It holds a unique spot among our other dilutables because it’s a rapid-response heavy hitter, meaning it can be used in situations where speed and impact are critical to PMPs and their customers. This includes initial services, cleanouts, before a big event, or for tough callbacks. It makes a significant impression due to being a quick release formulation; the dual active ingredients rapidly deploy their full power, swiftly reducing pest populations through an upfront strike.

What are the dual active ingredients that cause the swift action?

Dinotefuran and alpha-Cypermethrin come together in Ridesco WG Insecticide to target two physiological pathways that quickly overwhelm a broad range of pests. For instance, in trials on black widow spiders, Ridesco WG Insecticide established 100% knockdown and mortality in 24 hours. It also provides powerful efficacy against cellar and brown recluse spiders, American cockroaches, earwigs and other occasional invaders.

How do you apply Ridesco WG Insecticide?

Ridesco WG can be applied using any hand-held, backpack, or truck mounted sprayer equipment. Mist blowers can also be used to treat hard-to-reach areas. It can also be mixed with a foaming agent to treat voids. Use as a spot, band, crack and crevice, and void type of application. Can using Ridesco WG Insecticide save on resources?

Dr. Freder Medina is a native of Santa Clara, Cuba, where he earned a B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering from Universidad Central de Las Villas. Following his graduation, he specialized in biological control in agriculture.

In the 1990s, he relocated to Austin, TX, where he worked as a pest control technician and received his Texas pest control operator license. He later pursued graduate studies at Texas A&M University, earning a Ph.D. in Entomology. After a few years as a regional technical director for a pest control company in Phoenix, AZ, Freder joined BASF in 2013 as the technical services representative for the Western U.S. Since 2018, he has held the position of Pest Technical Market Manager and is based at the BASF headquarters for Agricultural Solutions in North America, in the Research Triangle Park, N.C.
